Today I want to talk to you about the mistakes people make while moving. My team and I have had the opportunity to help over 4,000 people move, so we’ve seen a lot of mistakes.

Here are some things you should think about for your next move:
  1. Start early. Most people wait too late to get started and they end up feeling rushed. By starting early, you can actually plan what’s being packed, where it’s going to go, and you’ll have a much more efficient and enjoyable process.
  2. Don’t just move the things you aren’t going to use. Moving is the best time to be able to donate, purge, and declutter your possessions so you can start with a fresh approach in your new home.
  3. Hire professionals to help. People try to save money by not hiring professionals, but this can actually end up costing more money, along with causing more stress and sometimes even injuries. It’s well worth it to hire professionals—it’s what they do.

Most people wait too late to get started and they end up feeling rushed.

Take these tips and apply them to your next move, and you should have a much easier time with the process.

Avoid These 4 Mistakes When Selling

Sellers seem to make the same mistakes all the time. Here are four of the most common ones that I see.

If you’re planning on selling your home anytime in the near future, you’re going to want to know a few things. More specifically, you’re going to want to know what not to do. Here’s a list of the four most common seller mistakes that should be avoided at all costs:

1. Doing things that don’t make a difference. Have us come out to take a look at your home. We’ll let you know what types of things you can do to add value to your home and what types of things that will take away from it.

2. Incorrect pricing. Most of the time, this comes in the form of overpricing. If the property is priced too high, people will either avoid it altogether, use the home to make other homes look better, or send you a lowball offer because they know it's overpriced. It makes the sale extremely difficult.

Overpricing is a huge mistake.

3. Having the home be less presentable than it should. The way we want to show a home and the way we live in a home are two different things. It’s a hassle to keep things sparkly clean during showings, but with the right agent and the right price, you won’t have to keep it that way for too long.

4. Using the wrong agent to market the home. Although you might be tempted to hire a family member or friend to be your agent, it doesn’t mean they have the expertise to get your home sold for the most money possible. We do.

We don’t want you to make any of these mistakes when you’re selling your home. If you have any questions for me at all, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
